I created an accompanying illustration for Jony Mitchell’s Best Album Is Turning Fifty. It’s Not Blue, an article from The Walrus magazine by KC Hoard.

The article suggests a shift of Joni’s attitude towards life reflected in her music. Inspired by descriptions such as “stormy and snarling” “wild, sunny and free”, my illustration shows her transformation through visual contrasts and bold colors.
