Illustration Anthology

My childhood was accompanied by Disney and Barbie Princess stories. When I looked for familiar songs and soundtracks in films such as the Little Mermaid, Barbie of Swan Lake, and the Diamond Castle, I realized that they have never gone away. Somehow there’s power in those princesses and the melodies, and perhaps it’s the kindness, courage, and their optimistic attitude towards life that’s been lightening me up ever since I was little.

The illustrated instrument I created for my music anthology is an imagined combination of different sound elements into the shape of a castle, full of beautiful melodies that make the castle itself a wondrous symphony. My anthology also includes two pieces of musical ephemera--a DVD and a series of theme cards. To package the whole anthology together, I made a tunnel book which constructs a fantasy world including different themes from the princess movies and soundtracks.
